In April 2017, planned modernization of the ANOF-3 apatite-nepheline processing plant of Apatit JSC began.
In the medium crushing cascade, Russian crushers will be replaced with three new Nordberg GP7 secondary crushing cone crushers. After commissioning of all three new crushers, the total production capacity for extraction will be 6 thousand tons against previous 5.2 tons, which is 800 tons per hour more. At the same time, size of crushed ore will be decreased significantly after medium crushing, which will also positively affect quality and production process as a whole.
Currently, planned testing of the first of the crushers has been successfully completed. Service department employees of the Sever Minerals’ Kirov branch assisted our colleagues from the company Metso in production of installation works on mechanical adjustment of equipment and monitoring of operating parameters of new equipment.
Undeniably high productivity of the Nordberg GP7 secondary crushing cone crusher is the result of combination of a large loading hole and high power in this dimensional class of equipment. The unique design of the crusher makes it possible to crush a solid material with a power of 550 kW (740 hp). Advantages in optimized crushing are achieved using a large and constant feed opening, a steeply inclined crushing chamber and a wide range of working stroke.
